an honest comparison

Karak or coffee for the office, in Dubai

Choose karak when your team drinks chai through the day and you want it hot, ordered as you need it: a 1L flask (about 6 cups) is AED 40 and a 10-cup tray is from AED 250. Choose specialty coffee when you want a stocked pantry on a monthly plan: our sister brand ROAST publishes Desk from AED 599, Floor from AED 1,150 and HQ from AED 2,200 a month. Many offices want both. All prices exclude 5% VAT.

Quick answers

Should our office choose karak or coffee?
Start with what your team actually drinks. We make karak and ROAST makes specialty coffee, and we do not rank them on taste. Karak suits chai drinkers and meetings; a coffee plan suits an ongoing pantry; many offices run both.
Can one supplier cover both?
Yes. ROAST publishes a managed office subscription that includes karak from Cha Cha Chai alongside specialty coffee. Its Desk plan, from AED 599 a month, lists about 3-4 kg of beans a month plus 40 karak servings a week.
Are the prices like for like?
No. Karak is bought per order (flask AED 40, tray from AED 250). ROAST plans are monthly tiers by headcount. The two shapes of cost are different, so compare them against how your team drinks.

Start with what your team drinks

We make karak, so we say so up front.

Cha Cha Chai is a karak chai business and ROAST is our sister brand for specialty coffee. We are not going to tell you one tastes better than the other, because that depends on your people. What we can tell you is how each is ordered, what each costs on its published page, and where each fits an office.

A quick test: ask the team. If most reach for tea with milk and cardamom, start with karak. If most want espresso drinks, start with coffee. If it is split, which it often is, plan for both.

When an office wants karak, coffee or both

Three situations.

Karak. Your team grew up on chai, you host meetings where a hot flask lands on the table, or you want a standing weekly order with no machine and no plan. Ordering is per flask or tray, so cost follows cups: on our planning rule of thumb of 2 cups per person, a 15-person floor is 30 cups a day, or 5 flasks, which is AED 200 a day before delivery and VAT. See how much karak for 10, 50 or 100.

Specialty coffee. You want a stocked pantry with a machine and a monthly tier, not one-off orders. ROAST prices plans by tier, not per head, so the right tier follows your headcount.

Both. A mixed floor is the usual case. ROAST’s subscription page describes one managed plan covering specialty coffee and karak on a single monthly invoice, and you can still add Cha Cha Chai trays or flasks per order for a big meeting.

Events. Our live karak and gahwa station is from AED 900. ROAST publishes a coffee cart with a barista from AED 3,000 for a half day. Many events pair them, and the live station page shows both.
