Why is the saffron chai AED 20?

It is karak made with real saffron strands, and saffron is the premium ingredient on our menu. The CCC Special Karak at AED 16, where saffron meets masala, sits between the AED 14 karaks and the AED 20 saffron glass.

How much is a karak flask for the office?

A 1L karak flask (about 6 cups) is AED 40 and a 1L saffron chai flask is AED 44. The office karak tray (10 cups) starts from AED 250, with samosa pav extra, and a live karak and gahwa station starts from AED 900. Office and event prices exclude 5% VAT.

Is a flask or a tray cheaper per cup?

On our published prices a 1L flask works out at about AED 6.67 a cup (AED 40 for about 6 cups) and a 10-cup tray at from AED 25 a cup (from AED 250). They are different formats, so choose by group size and how you want to serve.

Is VAT included in the price?

Office and event prices are quoted before 5% VAT, and a VAT tax invoice comes with every order. The menu shows dine-in prices in AED.

Are delivery prices the same as dine-in?

Within our own range the ladder is short. The plain, masala and ginger glasses are the same AED 14. The CCC Special is AED 2 more, and the saffron glass is AED 4 above that, AED 6 above the plain karak.

Prefer something other than karak? Chai Latte is AED 22 and Mango Lassi is AED 18. To eat alongside, a Cake Rusk is AED 6, a Maska Bun AED 10, and the combos are Karak + Cake Rusk at AED 17 and Karak + Samosa at AED 18.

Why karak costs what it does

Tea, brewed strong

Karak starts from Assam tea brewed strong, and strength is the point. The tea is a main ingredient here, not a background flavour.

Evaporated milk and cardamom

Evaporated milk gives karak its thick, milky body and cardamom gives it the aroma people recognise. Saffron, where we use it, is the premium ingredient, which is why the saffron glass sits at the top of the ladder.

Labour and time

A pot that is brewed and not rushed needs someone to make it and pour it, in a counter that stays open all day and, at Deira and Dubai Silicon Oasis, all night. We do not publish a cost breakdown; these are general reasons, not a formula.
