What zafrani karak is

Zafrani comes from the word for saffron, so zafrani karak is simply karak chai with saffron. The base is the same as any karak: strong black tea, evaporated milk and cardamom, sweetened and simmered, then poured hot. Saffron is added to change the glass, not to replace the tea. When people order it

Saffron karak is the glass people tend to choose as a treat, to mark a visit or an occasion, or when they have already tried the AED 14 karaks and want to go up a step. It is also the natural pick if you like a softer, more fragrant cup than a masala or ginger one.

Our four Dubai stores all pour karak. Deira (Business Village) and Dubai Silicon Oasis are open 24 hours, every day, so you can drop in at any hour. Sheikh Zayed Road (Blue Tower) is open daily, 7 AM – 11 PM. Dubai Science Park is open Mon–Fri 7 AM – 7 PM and Sat 8 AM – 5 PM, and is closed on Sunday; the counter shares the café with ROAST Specialty Coffee.
